Uganda Beads

A civil war has torn through and driven Uganda into utter poverty in a way that many here in the Western World will never understand. Many of the women and children ended up crushing rocks in a quarry for around a dollar a day. Talk about extreme poverty. Some organizations reached out and helped the women create a self sustainable proactive business collective to help improve their lives.

From the comfort and convienence of their own homes, not a sweatshop or a remote factory they are able to craft their beads. They sell uganda paper beads through a variety of partners in the western world to improve the lives of their families and community. It's simply amazing and it's business done right.
